2023 Lexus IS300 OBD AKL, Autel KM100 or IM608 Pro2?

Here is my experience on successfully programming 2023 Lexus IS300 all keys lost via OBD. With the help of Autel MaxiIM KM100, the key can only start car without remotes. So I have to use Autel MaxiIM IM608 Pro2 to synchronize ECU in next step. As a result, I would recommend to simply use IM608 for whole programming, that’s enough.

Step1. Reset Smart Box + Add Key

Tips: This can be done on IM608 as well.

Reset Smart Box

Turn on hazard warning lamps.

Performing this function will clear all smart keys and make sure that the driver door is always open. Press “Yes” to continue.

Resetting smart box, it’ll take about 16 minutes, please wait…

Reset succeeded.

Add Smart Key

Turn on hazard warning lamps.

Notice:

Each step must be completed within the specified time.

The positions for learning include: 7

Keep one key that needs programming inside the vehicle, take out the reset of keys outside vehicle, otherwise might cause key programming failure.

Put a smart key to be learned close to the START button.

Learning succeeded.

Step2. Synchronize ECU Learning

So with KM100, the proximity worked, we were able to start the car but the remote functions do not work. To get the remote working, we had to use the Autel IM608 II Key Programmer. The KM100 seems not to have the function.
