I put the Autel IM508S & XP400 PRO on a 2015 Mercedes-Benz GLK 350 (W204) for an all-keys-lost job. The key was programmed successfully, and the vehicle started normally with the new key.
The interesting part of this job was the Mercedes workflow. Fast All Keys Lost did not support this VIN, so the job was handled through the FBS3/emulator route instead.
Real Workshop Experience
Vehicle Selection
The GLK was identified as a 2015 W204 GLK 350. I didn’t treat the model year alone as proof that it was FBS4.
The working menu path was:
Main Menu → Smart Selection → All Keys Lost → Normal → Vehicle
Fast All Keys Lost did not support this VIN, so the job continued with the emulator connection for the FBS3 system.
Password Calculation
- Connect the emulator and G-BOX 3.
- Start the password calculation.
- Wait for the password to be returned. The calculation took under 20 minutes in this test.
- Save the code and continue.
- Remove the emulator when prompted.
Key Programming
- Insert the key blank into the XP400 PRO.
- Let the Autel IM508S detect the key.
- Select Writing Key File. Wait for the programming to complete.
- The tool reported that the key writing was completed.
Start Test
- This was an all-keys-lost job with the alarm active, so the key still needed to be tested on the vehicle.
- Insert the programmed key into the ignition, follow the prompt to remove and reinsert it.
- Start the vehicle. Perform a real engine-start test.
- The GLK started normally.
Technician Take
For this particular 2015 Mercedes-Benz GLK 350, the Autel IM508S + XP400 Pro did the job successfully. The programmed key was not only written successfully but also tested with an actual vehicle start.
The main thing to watch is the Mercedes system and VIN before choosing the programming route. The model year by itself isn’t enough to determine the workflow.
