Today I’m gonna show how to add a new key for Mercedes-Benz W204 with Autel MaxiIM IM508S by OBD. Autel IM608 PRO2 is able to do the same job as well.
Procedure
IMMO >> Accept >> Auto detect >> OK >> Yes >> 2008-2014 >> Immo status scan >> Add key >> On vehicle >> Begin
Detecting frequency.
Please put the ignition key close to the programmer remote reception position and press any button of the key.
Please insert the ignition key into the IR keyhole on XP400 PRO programmer.
Press “OK”.
Is this ignition key a smart key? No
OK >> Begin
Detecting frequency.
Please put the new blank key close to the programmer remote reception position and press any button of the key.
Please insert the new key into the IR keyhole on XP400 PRO programmer.
Press “OK”.
Is there a key password? No
OK >> Begin
Autel IM508S Note:
After the key password is calculated, it may be required to insert and remove the ignition key for multiple times before it can start the vehicle.
Insert the ignition key into the EIS and wait for 5s.
Pull the ignition key out.
Insert the ignition key into the EIS and wait for 2s.
Please confirm whether the key can be turned to the ON position.
If not, please remove the key and try again until it can be turned to the ON position and click “OK”.
Note: If operate in a car, please pay attention to whether the instrument panel is illuminated when the key is turned to the ON position. Try again if the key cannot be turned to the ON position.
After pulling the ignition key out, insert it into the IR keyhole on XP400Pro programmer.
Getting password is in progress. Please wait.
The whole process takes about 10-30 mins…
Succeed to get password.
Insert the ignition key into the EIS and wait for 30s..
Password calculation completed!
Generate key file, please wait…
Please insert the new key into the IR keyhole on XP400PRO programmer.
Press OK.
Writing key file…
Key addition completed.
After pressing OK, check if the new key can be used normally according to instructions.
- Insert the new key into the EIS. If the red indicator lamp on the key lights up and goes off, the key learning is successful.
If the red indicator lamp stays lit, try inserting and removing the key for serveral times. If still not working, the key addition failed.
- Turn ignition on and check if the vehicle can be started normally. If the vehicle not started normally, the key addition failed.
- Check if remote lock and unlock functions can work normally. If not, please check if the key battery can work normally.
If the key battery works normally and the remote function is still invalid, the key addition failed.
Test the new key, lock and unlock are normal, it can start the car well.
