How to Program a 2025 Cadillac XT6 AKL with Autel IM608 Pro II?

2025 Cadillac XT6 with all smart keys lost and no working key available. This job was completed using the Autel IM608 Pro II, XP400 Pro and JVCI, following the GM guided immobilizer procedure. No module removal was required.

Vehicle Access & PIN Reading

  1. Connect the IM608 Pro II and navigate to:
    IMMO → GM → Manual Selection → Cadillac → USA → XT6 (2020–2025) → Hot Function → Add Smart Key
  2. Start the procedure and allow the tool to read the security PIN.
  3. Press the Start/Stop button once when prompted.
  4. Wait for PIN reading to complete successfully before continuing.

With PIN access obtained, the system is ready for key learning.

Key Learning Procedure

  1. Skip DTC clearing and proceed directly to key learning.
  2. Press the Start/Stop button once, then place the new smart key into the emergency key slot inside the vehicle.
  3. Enter the retrieved 4-digit PIN code and confirm.
  4. Make sure ignition is OFF, then start the learning procedure.
  5. The vehicle enters a security countdown that takes approximately 12 minutes. During this period, avoid interrupting the process.
  6. When prompted after the countdown, press the Start/Stop button once.

The system completes registration of the current smart key and moves to the next stage.

Ignition Cycling Sequence

  1. Switch ignition OFF.
  2. Press and hold the Start/Stop button for approximately 12 seconds, then release.
  3. Follow the on-screen prompts to switch ignition ON and OFF as required.

This portion is fully guided by the GM immobilizer system, so simply follow the sequence shown by the IM608.

Remote Synchronization

  1. Stop the engine.
  2. Open and close the driver’s door.
  3. Press and hold the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on the smart key simultaneously, then release.
  4. Confirm on the tool and wait for synchronization to complete. Once accepted, remote functions are paired with the vehicle.

Verification

Start the engine with the newly programmed smart key and verify that remote lock/unlock and push-button start operate normally.

Workshop Notes

For late-model GM AKL jobs such as the 2025 XT6, the Autel IM608 II provides a straightforward guided workflow. PIN reading, key learning, and remote synchronization are handled within the same procedure, keeping the process efficient and eliminating the need for module removal.
