How to Add 2018 Toyota Corolla 8A-88 Smart Key with Autel IM608 Pro2?

Using the Autel IM608 Pro2, I first read the original 8A key information and remote frequency, generated a matching Autel MaxiIM IKEY, then completed the Add Smart Key procedure through the Keyless System.

Check the Original Key Information

Before generating a new key, read the original key data and remote frequency.

  1. On the IM608 Pro2, go to Programmer → Transponder → Transponder Reading → Automatic Detection.
  2. Read the original key information. The vehicle key was identified as 8A-88.
  3. Enter Remote Control Detection → Frequency Detection.
  4. Place the original key in the programmer’s antenna area and press any button on the key.
  5. Record the detected remote frequency: 314.50/315.10 MHz.

Generate the Autel iKEY

Use the information collected from the original key to generate a compatible universal key.

  1. Enter Universal Key → Universal Key Generation → Asia → Toyota → Type by Model → Corolla → 2018.
  2. Select the matching configuration:
    • Toyota Corolla 2014–2018
    • 314.35/315.10 MHz
    • FSK
    • ID8A
    • P4: 00008888
  3. Generate the new Autel iKEY and wait until the process is completed.

Add the New Smart Key

With the generated key ready, proceed to key registration.

  1. Go to IMMO → Asia → Toyota → Automatic Selection → Control Unit → Keyless System (CAN) → Add Smart Key.
  2. When asked whether to use the APB112 simulator key, select No.
  3. Follow the on-screen timing requirements throughout the procedure.
  4. Place a learned smart key close to the START button when prompted.
  5. When instructed, place the newly generated smart key close to the START button.
  6. Wait for the registration process to complete until the system displays Learning Succeeded.

Verification

After registration, confirm that the vehicle starts normally with the newly added smart key and that basic smart key functions operate as expected.

  • For this Corolla, the key generation settings must match the original key type and remote frequency.
  • Reading the original key first avoids compatibility issues and helps ensure a smooth Add Key procedure with the Autel IM608 II.
