VXDIAG VCX NANO and Forscan Test on Sport Trac Mountaineer I want just Shared my repairing experience of 2002 Sport Trac with 1998 Mountaineer drivetrain, with VXDIAG VCX NANO Ford and ELS27 FORScan scanner. Haven’t been able to get any past v86 to work when installed on a laptop running XP. I tried installing v81 then v91 then v97 but that didn’t work, not even for 3 days. Nor did changing the time, date and time zone. I was able to set the tire size and some other things, including reading DTCs that require communication with the PCM. But when attempting to program the latest calibration to the PCM or do the ABS Service Bleed, there’s suddenly a “PCM Communication Failure”. It also fails to do the KOEO and KOER tests, claiming it cannot sense when the brake pedal is depressed. All bogus, false errors. I get the same “communications failure” on a completely stock 1998 Mountaineer as I do on my 2002 Sport Trac with 1998 Mountaineer drivetrain. FORscan scan tool can do the KOEO and KOER tests and the ABS module self test with this VCX NANO device, but it does not yet support the ABS bleed function. FORscan can also clear KAM from the PCM, which IDS v86 fails to do with the VXDIAG VCX NANO, again that “communications failure” with the PCM. FORscan can also do the other tests that involve running the windows, wipers, locks and windshield washer. […]
